With CER Server 1.2(2)SR1 and CER 1.2(3) releases, cannot locate all of the switch ports that the IP phones are plugged into after a switch upgrade from Cisco IOS to 12.2(20) or later. C4500 displays incorrect port information

Core Issue

This problem is tracked by Cisco bug ID CSCsa78970

Resolution

This problem is tracked by Cisco bug ID CSCsa78970 and is now fixed in Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) version 1.3.1.

If a CER upgrade is not desirable for some reason, perform these steps to resolve the problem:

  1.   In C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\CiscoER\etc, find the config file named 'anidevices.xml'. Create a backup of this file in a separate location.

  2.   Open the file in Notepad, and delete these lines:

    VERSIONS="[12.2(20)SE,)"
    NAME="com.cisco.nm.ani.server.devices.C4KIOS.C3560"/>

    Note: Be careful not to delete anything else.

  3. Save the file and restart the CERPhoneTrackingEngine service from the Services Control Center.

  4. To perform a full discovery, choose Switch Port and Phone Update from the Phone Tracking menu on the CER Admin website.

To download the CER software, refer to Software Downloads

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cer.

Also, refer to Installing Cisco Emergency Responder 1.3(1).
