With Cisco CallManager 3.3, the Active Directory plugin installation fails with the Setup failed to connect. Please enter your Host name, Port number, Directory Administrator DN, and password again. error message

Core Issue

This error message means that there is a misconfiguration at a high level somewhere. Even though the configuration was typed exactly, this installation was actually a second cluster.

The logs recorded indicate an authentication problem, as shown in the following example:

DN and Password again!

Resolution

When installing Active Directory on a second cluster, choose a custom installation, and do not try to update the schema or configure Active Directory. Point the second cluster to the existing Active Directory.
