Using QM Calabrio for recording need to use external drive for restoring recorded files
I appreciate your comments on the following
We are using MCS 7845 H2 CCX and currently it has 1.36 TB which is getting full as the recorded files are stored on the local server and being backed upby networkbackup in the network cluster.
Lately we started to have disk full problems and to fix the issue we can not purge old records as we are legally obliged to keep the record for 5 years, We are doing both audio and data recording from the Agent desktop screen and also agent calls.
We are using Calabrio on QM that is sitting on the above server and we need to change the storage to point to a remote server
I have the following plan and we are using calabrio 2.7. which is not supported by Calabrio anymore and we are plannuign to do upgrade in the near future but I need to resolve this issue for the short term
Can you please comment on the following plan if you may please and if you have run into this situation before
For external storage of the recordings, we need to run a PostInstall exe, on the QM which will re build the QM database to update the pointers. This is an all or none configuration setup available for this change, so unfortunately we cannot do a portion testing, and will need to have all the current data moved over to the new storage.
We will be using the following:
Remote storage server IP
Full path of the external drive location and the specific folder. Will mapping a drive will work here to use it as path to the external storage location
Username/pwd, if required by the external storage
The application uses a service, FTS. For external storage, which is the case here, we need username/password that is required to access that location. It should be a domain user, that was read and write access to the local QM server ) and the external storage. This user must meet the following requirements:
The local QM server must know the user (the user is a trusted domain user)
Should be on the same domain as the server. domain specified must be trusted by the local QM server.
The user must be able to log on as a service
The user must have read and write access to both the external drive location entered and the location where monitoring and recording services is installed on the local server.
The above should work theoretically. However, if there are any wacky database or application related issues that cannot be worked out, (current application is out of support ),
My other option is to purge older recordings from the current local server to create space
Hello, Abdul. Have you looked into entry level Cisco UCS C series servers for this remote storage server IP? There shouldn't be any issues upon meeting your user requirements. However, application and data base support requires a much hands on assistance. Have already consulted any Cisco partner or representative about this requirement as well?
Please let me know if you have other concerns or e-mail (email@example.com) me directly. Kind regards.
Unfortunately the calabrio software version that Cisco bought and uses it for recording in QM the version is out of support and we are in the process of getting approval to upgrade it but for now we have this issue that we need to address it and I am looking for some answers
