Upgrading CWMS 1.1.1.9.A to 1.5.1.323.A - Maintenance Release

Hi All,

As per CMWS 1.5 Administration document, You cannot skip a FCS version of the software and go directly to a maintenance release (MR) version. For example, you can go from 1.0 to 1.5.1.6 (the 1.5 FCS version), but you cannot go from version 1.0 to 1.5MR. But I cannot find FCS version 1.5 in Cisco Download only 1.5.1.323 MR and other versions are deferred. In the field notice of version 1.5.1.323, its written "You must install the CWMS version 1.1

(Build 1.1.1.9.A), or higher before applying this patch". My question is, can i upgrade CWMS 1.1.1.9.A to 1.5.1.323.A - Maintenance Release ?

Hi Mohammad,

This is an error in our documentation. There is a documentation defect opened for this statement:

CSCul94862    CWMS Update instructions must be corrected .

This will be updated in CWMS 2.0 Administration documentation.

As you confirmed in the Readme file of 1.5.1.323A, a prerequisite is to have at least 1.1.1.9A to update directly to 1.5.1.323A.

Based on this, you can update your CWMS 1.1.1.9A to 1.5.1.323A directly.

Thanks. Can we upgrade 1.1.1.9.A to 2.0 directly ?

Since this falls under the UPGRADE (major) of the system and not the UPDATE (minor), I believe it should be possible. Still, we don't have that information as 2.0 is not released yet, and no official documentation exists. We expect 2.0 to be released mid-February, so if you can wait with an update for a week or two more, we should know by that time.
