Agent PG and Peripheral Interface Manager (PIMs)

Hi,

I have some questions on UCCE 9.x. If I need to setup more than 2000 agents on a single CM cluster, then I understand from the SRND that I need to have one PG with two PIMs. How many peripheral IDs would this generate? 1 or 2?

My question is - would teams be possible to span between PIM1 and PIM2 of the same PG?

More, since Finesse is connected to one PG, do I need to have 1 Finesse instance or 2 Finesse instances to support this setup? I know that 2 because one Finesse instance can handle at most 2000 agents but the question is more PIM related. Can a single Finesse connect to a single Agent PG with multiple PIMs or do I need one Finesse instance for each PIM?

Also, what is the connection between Phisical Controller ID (is this the PG) and Logical Controller ID (Is this the PIM)?

Thank you,

Ruben

Re: Agent PG and Peripheral Interface Manager (PIMs)

Best practice is to setup a second PG for same cluster with 2nd PGUSER.

1. Peripheral Gateway
2. Peripheral (that will be PIM)

Logical controller ID represent peripheral Gateway and peripheral ID peripheral (PIM).
Under one LCID there could be multiple PID's.
