It may be that the version of CAD with that older UCCX may not support the multiple tabs.
In Desktop Admin, Browser Setup you should see a number of options.
* Enable Integrated Browser
* Allow Address Editing
* Number of Workflow Browsers.
* Site Name
* URL
* Browser Tab (drop-down list)
* Home Page

If your Admin interface does not look like the picture there, then your system does not support multiple tabs.
