CCX 8.5.1: set uccx provider ip axl - not working

Hi

I have to change the CUCM ip address in CCX (8.5.1.11001-35).

So in the cli:

- I enter set uccx provider ip axl 0.0.0.0

- And I get no response.... no error no success

- restarting tomcat and ccx engine

- nothing changed in the WebUi

- go to cli and show uccx provider ip axl -> no response....

okay back to the basics...

- Stopping tomcat and ccx engine

- enter in the cli set uccx provider ip axl 0.0.0.0

- same result

Where is my fault? In the CLI Command Reference is no more....

Thx for any help

Greeting Phil

Re: CCX 8.5.1: set uccx provider ip axl - not working

Here is the lastest answer from TAC:

I am suppose to change the AXL / CM cluster, but the button is not there in UCCX 8.5 any longer?

Best way to change the UCM integration in UCCX will be returning the UCCX to fresh install so we can select the providers again, but that will be once the upgrade it’s finished.

You could also open a TAC case and do the WORKAROUND stated in the Bug ID:

Workaround:

Contact Cisco TAC to modify CCMAuthenticationConfig object in CET and restart Cisco Tomcat

Best of luck!

CCX 8.5.1: set uccx provider ip axl - not working

Hi Phil,

set uccx provider ip axl

Sets the Unified CCX AXL provider IP address. This command should only be used when the IP address of Unified CM has been changed and Unified CCX is being pointed to the new IP address.

Note: After you run this command, restart all the Unified CCX services. After Unified CCX services start successfully, restart Cisco Tomcat using the CLI command "utils service restart Cisco Tomcat".

For more information on how ro restart the Unified CCX services, see the Cisco Unified CCX Serviceability Administration Guide available here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1846/products_installation_and_configuration_guides_list.html

Command Syntax:

set uccx provider ip axl

Arguments

—The IP address of the AXL provider.

Requirements

Level privilege: 0

Command privilege level: 0

Allowed during upgrade: No

Example

admin: set uccx provider ip axl 10.78.14.140

Cisco Unified Communications Manager IP is set to 10.78.14.140

Command Successful.

Reference (Page 30):

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_5/configuration/guide/uccx851cli.pdf

Could you please try with the real ip address than 0.0.0.0

Hope it helps.

Anand

Re: CCX 8.5.1: set uccx provider ip axl - not working

Hi Anand

The output from the CLI Reference Guide I already studied.

Like my describe above, I do exact this or not?

By entering an invalid IP address I get a response... invalid IP-ADDRESS....

By entering the correct or any other IP address I get no response...

The example has an success output but in real not

Example

admin: set uccx provider ip axl 10.78.14.140

Cisco Unified Communications Manager IP is set to 10.78.14.140

Command Successful.

thx

CCX 8.5.1: set uccx provider ip axl - not working

Hi,

After following the above procedure , did you check if it has really changed the ip for CUCM.

Example

admin: show uccx provider ip axl

Or login into UCCX Admin and check the CM ip address to verify whether it has changed it.

Thanks,

Anand

CCX 8.5.1: set uccx provider ip axl - not working

Year I did.... the output of show uccx provider ip axl is empty....

here my CLI:

admin:set uccx provider ip axl 10.243.2.40

admin:show uccx provider ip axl

admin:

maybe a bug?

or is a service running and I can do that at this time?

CCX 8.5.1: set uccx provider ip axl - not working

Hi,

set uccx provider ip axl 10.243.2.40

Note: After you run this command, restart all the Unified CCX services.  After Unified CCX services start successfully, restart Cisco Tomcat  using the CLI command "utils service restart Cisco Tomcat".

Than check the

admin:show uccx provider ip axl

Also try logging into UCCX Admin to crossverify if its a bug.

Thanks,

Anand

CCX 8.5.1: set uccx provider ip axl - not working

Hi

So I did that... changing to the new IP and then I restarted to whole server.

I verified in the CLI and I crossverified it in the UCCX Admin....same result... the server knows nothing about the new CUCM IP.

In the background I'm downloading the SU3 and in maybe 2-3h I know more.

thx

the upgrade didn't resolve the problem.

but I'm not sure if my problem is the same as CSCtv17288 Bug. I get and find no return value "Invalid Cisco Unified CM credentials"
