CISCO IPCC REDUNDANCY WITH PHONE-BASED LOGIN

Hi,

In an environment of Cisco IPCC Express Premium, with two IPCC server and Phone-Based Agents, is there any way of automatically recover the service when one IPCC is down?

Let me explain more accurately. With Cisco Agent Desktop, software detects the fail of the main server and the agent login in the backup server automatically. But with Phone-Based Agent we need to define two separate services.

Is this OK? Is there any better way of doing this configuration? Thank you very much.

Your only other way of doing it is to use a load balancer with a virtual IP address for IP Phone Agent. The load balancer, such as a Cisco ACE, would monitor the servers and proxy the connection to the server that is in service.

Do you think another possible solution would be to configure a DNS system associated with the IPs of both servers?

Then we could define the service in CUCM with this name.

Not unless your DNS server is smart enough to figure out which server is currently in service and return that IP address. If the resolved IP address is the current standby node it will fail.
