Cisco supervisor Desktop support for Windows 7

We are getting ready to rollout Windows 7. We ran into a problem while testing Historical Reports and Cisco supervisor Desktop on Windows 7. Historical Reports installs just fine while CSD give us an error that the operating system is not supported by Cisco. Is there a current version that supports Windows 7?

Our IPCC version is:

Cisco Application Administration - 7.0(1)SR05_Build504

Package: Cisco Unified CCX Enhanced

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Yefim

Yefim,

Currently only Contact Center Express 8.0 has Windows 7 support for CAD clients.   The compatibility guide always has the latest information about what is compatible.

You can use a program call Orca that will allow you to modify the MSI so you can install the Supervisor and agent.  We have tested using it and both the agent and the supervisor work, we haven't completed our testing on being able to monitor agent calls.  Here is the link:

Thanks for the tip. We'll test and see if we can get it to work

Re: Cisco supervisor Desktop support for Windows 7

I'm trying to follow the link you have posted and got Orca installed on a Windows 2003 server. However, I'm not showing the 'Launch Condition' table.

FYI, I'm running Orca ver. 3.1.4000.1830.

BTW, I was wondering how you got a CAD msi setup file from? As you know it's a .exe file if you get it from the CRS app admin.

Hi

Are you running version 4.x or earlier of UCCX/CRS?

If so, it's not MSI based...

Re: Cisco supervisor Desktop support for Windows 7

Right, we're on 4.x. We will upgrade but for now I'm interested in tweaking it to make it work in Windows 7. So far, the other workaround I've tried and it's working 100% for me is to use VMware Thinapp to package the entire CAD application to a single, self-contain, exe file.

Anyway, do you know if there is a way to convert .exe to .msi?

OK now with Orca 5.x  (I think this is the latest ver.), I'm still not showing the 'Launch Condition' table. See attached pic. Any idea? Am I landing to a wrong track?

Re: Cisco supervisor Desktop support for Windows 7

Yes, you are wandering down a long and lonely road.

Repackaging an install package from an .exe (which could be one of a million types of installer, such as InstallShield) to an MSI isn't a trivial task - it's a fairly specialist piece of work.

You can only open MSIs with Orca, it doesn't support other types of install package.

I would suggest if you have a workable solution with ThinApp you'd be best to leave it there...

Re: Cisco supervisor Desktop support for Windows 7

I know it only works with msi's. I got a msi file which was converted by one of the IT guys in my company. Just wanted to explore myself on how to DIY but I still don't see the table that that guy said in the other thread.

Re: Cisco supervisor Desktop support for Windows 7

Hi

Well - basically an MSI created by someone in your company will be different to one created by Cisco. In this case he hasn't used the same features that Cisco have, so you don't see the same stuff inside it.

Re: Cisco supervisor Desktop support for Windows 7

Sorry, we are running UCCX 7 so the install is an msi not an exe.
