Codec Issue on IPCC Express

Hi Pros,

I have a IPCC Express 4.0 Enhanced Setup. Now, I had selected G.711 as codec for IVR prompts during CRS install. Is there a way I can change the codec type to G.729 without reinstalling CRS. And also, can I use transcoding services if my caller uses G.729 & IPCC Express uses G.711 as IVR Prompts.

Regards,

Pratik

You will need to re-run setup to change it to G.729.

Yes, you can use transcoders to transcode between codecs.

You can use only one codec as of today with ipcc express. Its chosen during installation phase. It can be changed only by reinstallation. You will need to use a hardware transcoder to translate calls between g729 and g711 to work with IPCC. I would suggest that you install g711 on your IPCC, unless you have a lot of remote agents.
