Configure IPPA for UCCX 8 and Call Manager 7

Hi Everybody ,

 

This is the first time I'm configuring IPPA and altough it is working fine, I have the following doubt : Is it required to have a dedicated Application User only for IPPA when you already have the RMCM Application User ?

In IPPA documentation, it is stated to create an application user, 'telecaster', and add it to Standard CTI Enabled Group. You should then associate all IP Phones used with IPPA to this application user.

During testing, I accidently found out that phones not added to this user, were working fine and Agents could use IPPA without any problem .

My guess is, because those phones were already used by agents using CAD and where already associated with RMCM Application User that also has the Standard CTI Enabled Group.

 

Is my assumptions correct ?
