Connecting to SQL 2005 Failing, IPCC 4.0.5

Hi,

I'm trying to make a system dsn connection to an sql server 2005 and the connection fails when trying to make the initial connection during setup of the system dsn.

There is an existing connection for another sql server 2000 that works fine and I can ping the new server from the IPCC server just fine.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Chuck

Try using the domain suffix to the host name. If you have mutiple instances of SQL Server, ensure that you use [host_name\instance_name} notation. Also, verify if you are connecting to the right port. Default is 1433. If the DBA has changed it, you may want to change that on the client as well. Hope this resolves your issue.
