CVP Failover Not working

Hi,

I have UCCE with CVP in my environment and also we are having 2 Call/VXML server for redundancy purpose. I have configured below command on VXML GW also created dialpeer towards my second call/vxml server to achieve redundancy but somehow my fail over is not working.

My UCCE with primary CVP is working fine without having any issue.

ip host mediaserver x.x.x.x
ip host mediaserver-backup x.x.x.x

Also I have used media_server ECC variable as 'mediaserver' to achieve redundancy.

I'm not sure weather i am missing any other configuration to achieve the fail over.

Please suggest.

Failover is working correctly

Failover is working correctly, you call is already landed on CVP2 because of CVP 1 failure.

But looking at the log, looks like your ICM configuration are not in place.

// snippets from the log

errorCode=E_INVALID_DIALED_NUMBER,

have you configured DN/script selector for CVP2 Routing client?

have configured call Type for the same? do you have Script scheduled for that call type?

This will be propably same treatment what you were doing for inbound calls to CVP1, you can also use te same script which you were using for CVP1.

yes thats true, You may just

yes thats true, You may just need to create same DN on new CVP routing client.

you can map it to same call type, for same script.

this is the preferred way, and it looks promising also when you load balance calls across mutiple CVP and provide same treatment, isnt it?

Hi, What kind of redundancy

Hi,

What kind of redundancy you are looking for? if CVP1 goes down, then calls should go to CVP2?

Are you using sip proxy? can you please post your Dial-peer configuration on VG that targets CVP?

Thanks Chaitan for your reply

Thanks Chaitan for your reply.

Yes, I am looking for redundancy as if CVP1 goes down, then calls should go to CVP2.

We are not using SIP proxy in our environment. Please find dial-peer configuration which are targeting to CVP1 & CVP2

dial-peer voice 7701 voip
 destination-pattern 77..
 translate-outgoing called 1
 session protocol sipv2
 session target ipv4:168.167.0.162 (CVP1)
 session transport tcp
 voice-class codec 1
 voice-class h323 1
 dtmf-relay rtp-nte h245-signal h245-alphanumeric
 no vad

dial-peer voice 7702 voip
 destination-pattern 77..
 translate-outgoing called 1
 session protocol sipv2
 session target ipv4:168.167.0.163 (CVP2)
 session transport tcp
 voice-class codec 1
 voice-class h323 1
 dtmf-relay rtp-nte h245-signal h245-alphanumeric
 no vad

Thanks

ok by looking at your Dial

ok by looking at your Dial-Peer, looks like calls are randomly landing on your 2 CVPs.

to achieve redundancy i would suggest to use preference command on Dial-Peers.

Preference Prioritises Your Dial-peer which Router Selects for Routing call, lower the preference Number Higher the priority.

By default Dial-peer preference is 0 which is highest priority.

please add below command:

preference 0  (in dial-peer 7701)

preference 1  (in dial-peer 7702)

by doing this, your calls will always go to Dial-peer 7701 and if it fails Dial-peer 7702 will treat your Routing.

Apologies for late response.I

Apologies for late response.

I have added below dial-peer but still my fail over doesn't work.

preference 0  (in dial-peer 7701)

preference 1  (in dial-peer 7702)

I have tasted the fail over in below manner.

1. On CVP ops console, i shut down my primary call/vxml server and make test call but my secondary server doesn't respond.

2. I have enable debug ccapi all & ccsip all and capture the logs.

I have enclosed my debug please have a look and let me know if any configuration modification is required.

Calling Number: 8826380635

Called Number: 4023500

Hi,i See voice gateway

Hi,

i See voice gateway choosing Dial-Peer 7702.

May 25 17:46:07.965: //2152551/488F755992F6/SIP/Info/ccsip_call_setup_request: Incrementing call counter to [1] in dial-peer [7702]

May 25 17:46:07.969: //2152549/488F755992F6/CCAPI/ccSaveDialpeerTag:
   Outgoing Dial-peer=7702

Check Your OPS console for any call that hit to CVP2 ?  you can use statistics of call server and see any call came to that CVP.

So you want to say that, I

So you want to say that, I have to create same DN (7710 - Existing DN) for CVP1 & CP2. Also I have to create 2 Call Type and 2 ICM routing script to achieve redundancy.
