DB Lookup based on ANI

I have been asked to write a script for a customer and they want to take the incoming caller ID and based on the area code of the phone number do a database lookup and route it to an agent based on the area code.  My concern is that we are taking 10 digits from the caller ID we are only sending 3 digit to the database to do a match on.  Can anyone suggest a good way to do this?

Thanks

Sorry I guess I forgot to state that, it is UCCX 7.02 SR5

Thanks

Re: DB Lookup based on ANI

You can retrieve just the first three characters of your ANI with the following Java method:

yourAniVariable.substring(0,3)

Re: DB Lookup based on ANI

UCCE does this very easily with the CLID Region Prefix switch element - no DB lookup required.

But I'm interested in what you are doing here. How many skill groups will there be? How many area codes will each handle (there are roughly 300 area codes in the United States of America).

Geoff
