DBWorker / DBLookup in ICM 7.5 for a SQL server with instance

Hi,

can anybody give me the correct syntax for DBWorker Login and for DB Lookup for a SQL server with an instance.

I know the syntax for DBWorker Login without SQL instance (\\SQLServername\DBName=(username,password)) and the DBLookup syntax (\\SQLServername\DBName.TableName) but it doesn't work if I have an instance on my SQL server. I tried the following syntaxes:

DBWorker Login

\\SQLServername\Instance\DBName=(username,password)

\\SQLServername/Instance\DBName=(username,password)

\\SQLServername.Instance\DBName=(username,password)

DBLookup

\\SQLServername\Instance\DBName.TableName
\\SQLServername/Instance\DBName.TableName
\\SQLServername.Instance\DBName.TableName

but nothing was working :-(

Cheers,

Tobias

It has been maybe 7 years

It has been maybe 7 years since I've used DBWorker, but from what I remember an instance is not supported. Move this over to your IVR, it will make your life a lot easier.

I can only agree with David,

I can only agree with David, that's why I am endorsing his answer.

Another option I would consider is the Application Gateway protocol (GED-145) for simple in'n'out interactions.
