Does the Cisco Unified Communications Sizing Tool 8.5(3) work for you ?

The previous version of this sizing tool worked just fine thank you very much, but now when I fire it up, it says it has expired and I should upgrade to the nice shiny new one. So I downloaded the new tool from

http://tools.cisco.com/cucst/faces/landing.jsp

and installed it, but when it runs it displays an Excel error and dies. Don't you love those sorts of circles?

I am on Windows 7 64-bit with Excel 2010 32-bit - a compatible combination, according to the release notes.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Geoff

Geo,

I just tested with all three downloads and they work just fine on my Win 7 64-bit laptop with Office 2007.

Let me try with office 2010 and I'll let you know.

Hi All,

I have installed the sizing tool on my laptop and found that the issue still persists in excel.

Would like to know if there is any resolution to this macro error.

Geoff,

I have the same setup as you.  Win7x64 Office 2010 and it works just fine.

Thanks, guys.

Must be some settings on the corporate load of Excel that prevents the application from working correctly. I'll do some more checking of options I can adjust. I'd like to be able to tell it to trust macros before I load the application, but I can't seem to do that in advance. Strange that the previous version was no problem.

Did you try running it as administrator?  I'm running Office 14.0.6112.5 x32 if that helps.

My Excel is version 14.0.6106.5005 (32-bit).

I have tried running as Administrator, and investigated the compatibility options to make it run in different modes, but still have the same problem. It's vexing.

Yes, I tested with both Office 2007 and 2010 on Windows 7 64-bit.

It's got to be something with you excel security settings.

Cheers,

Luis A.

I am sure you are absolutely correct. I just installed it on a colleague's computer (he works for a different company so his Excel does not have the same settings as mine, which comes from the HP corporate load).

I've played with quite a few different settings in the Trust Center but haven't cracked it yet.

Geoff
