ICM / CVP Media redundancy!

Guys,

what is the best way to achieve media redundancy in CVP? I ave 2 cvp's media servers with mirror'd media, however I don't have Content Switching. DNS SRV my next best option?

Re: ICM / CVP Media redundancy!

For microapps, setting the gateway up with "media" to MS1 and "media-backup" to MS2 in your ip host table, and setting the ECC variable user.microapp.media_server to the keyword "media" will give you automatic retry from the gateway should the fetch from "media" fail.

When you have to get media files out of CVP VXML applications (Audium apps) then you have no recourse but to use a CSS.

You can get some side to side protection by changing the default media path before deployment. Set it to MS1 to deploy on VXML1 and to MS2 to deploy on VXML2. Then if your whole side is down, the VXML apps will work.

It's no substitute for a CSS, but it is something.

Geoff

Re: ICM / CVP Media redundancy!

Geoff,

Thanks so much I got it working as good as I can without having a CSS, I am going to push my client to get some CSS.

Cheers mate!
