I am trying to clarify something about the telecaster id.
In some of the books it says you need to associate the IP Phone agents with the telcaster id. Other manuals say use the jtapiuser ?
I know it works wothout the telecaster id but what is the correct way. Callmanager version 4.1.3, IPCC express 4.0.4?

Hi Mike,
Every IP phone that will be used by an IP Phone Agent should be associated with the RM JTAPI Provider user...
From this doc;
The Cisco IP Interactive Call Distribution (ICD) Resource Manager (RM) uses a JTAPI user configured in Cisco CallManager to monitor agent phones, control agent states, and route and queue calls. You must create a Cisco CallManager user for the Resource Manager subsystem. You can use any name. However, if you name the user RMUser, it is meaningful and easy to remember.
From this doc;

Hope this helps!
Rob

The "telecaster" user is needed for Enterpise Data, if you don't use Enterprise Data screen pops then you don't have to worry about it. Even if you use Enterprise Data it seems to be working without the user, but from what I understand you need it.
HTH,
Chris
