Sounds like you did not get a chance to complete your sentence.

For CUCM upgrade similar question has been asked many times and depending on which exact version you are on just follow the "Drive to 9" process to stage and upgrade it directly on vmware by using DRS.

For CCX just follow the upgrade guide and use the PUT tool to migrate the data from windows based system to appliance.

Hi - From CUCM 7.1.3 you can go for direct upgrade to 9.1.1

Since you are using 7.0 you need to upgarde 7.0 - 8.5

1. Take Backup of 7.0 from existing Box

2. Install COP File (ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.2.cop.sgn)

3. Upgrade 7.0 - 8.5.1 Base Version and take a backup of 8.5.1

4. Built New CUCM - 8.5.1 exact vesion which you upgarded in existing Box on VMWARE and restore the Backup of 8.5.1 which were taken fom existing Box.

5. Insall same COP File  (ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.2.cop.sgn) in CUCM - 8.5.1 which is running on VMWARE and upgrade to 9.1.1

UCCX:

1. Using PUT Tool, you can take backup of 7.X UCCX , Make sure you are using corect PUT Tool version, For EX: If you are going for 8.5.1 then you need to use PUT Tool which is in 8.5.1.exe

2. Also make sure you have installed and taken Backup from node which is acting as Master.

3. Biult new UCCX - 8.5.1 on VMWARE and restore backup which is in TAR file.

4. Upgarde  UCCX from 8.5.1 o 8.5.1 SU3

5. Install COP File (ciscouccx.refresh_upgrade_v1.2.cop.sgn) and upgrade to 9.0.2

Best Practice:

Upgare CUCM 8.5.1 and UCCX 8.5.1 then upgarde CUCM 9.1.1 and then UCCX - 9.0.2

Also go for UCCX - 9.0.2 since i found few bugs in 9.0 w.r.t CAD

Please let me know if any additional informaion is required.
