Phone agent initiated recording

In IPCC 4.x, is IP phone agent initiated recording relying on desktop monitoring feature. I think it is nothing to do with that, right. Just want to check with you guys. Since IPCC 3.x doesn't have agent initiated recording and also no desktop monitoring feature. Kind of a little confused when ipcc 4.x has both of this feature. Thanks

call recording is not dependent on the 'desktop monitoring feature' in IPCC 4.x.

with the software and configuration, you should be able to record a call even if the 'monitoring feature' has not been installed.
