Renumbering CTI ports?

Is it permissible to use a * in the DNs of CTI ports? I'm considering renumbering ours as the numbers currently use DID space, but am having problems finding suitable numbers which don't overlap with other internal numbers/access codes.

I was hoping to move the CTI ports into a different partition which was contained only in the CTI Route Points' CSS. However, the CSS used to connect to a CTI port is that of the calling device, and not (as I assumed) the CSS of the CTI Route Point.

Yes, * is a valid character for a Directory Number.
