What is Ciscos official and unofficial policy on installing 3rd party applications on IPCC servers (such as CRS boxes)? Does anyone have any experiences they can share? I am interested in installing an RSS aggregator that would be scheduled to run at night, similar to how a backup application does.

Take a look at the following link. It basically says that Cisco does not like the idea of 3rd party apps on a CRS box, but TAC will support it if the customer feels the application is necessary for their business environment (mainly referring to monitoring applications). However, if TAC determines that the 3rd party app is the root cause of a problem, they will require that you remove it before proceeding.
Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.
Thanks,
Brandon

I've looked at the document and at first glance it appears inaccurate or at minimum requires additional clarity. I'm looking into this further and will respond back shortly.

I haven't received a response from the BU regarding this however my understanding is that only applications listed in the CRS Software and Hardware Compatibility Guide posted on CCO are supported by the TAC.
