Hello Everyone,

I want to start getting my hands dirty with some scripting. Is there an application that I can download direclty to my computer to let me start working on scripts? I think I can download the app off a UCCx server but I don't have access to one at the moment if indeed that is true.

Any helpful pointers for getting started with scripting are also appreciated.

Thanks in advance. All replies rated.

The CCX Editor needs to be downloaded from the server application administrator interface. The CCX Editor is specific to the version of CCX so you'll need to know what version you're targeting.

There are three documents that explicitly cover the editor:

Cisco Unified Contact Center Express Scripting and Development Series: Volume 1, Getting Started with Scripts 7.0(1)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/user/guide/uccx70edgs.pdf

Cisco Unified Contact Center Express Scripting and Development Series: Volume 2, Editor Step Reference 7.0(1)

Cisco Unified Contact Center Express Scripting and Development Series: Volume 3, Expression Language Reference 7.0(1)

If you haven't already, you should read the SRND and Release Notes to understand some basic principals of the product.

Solution Reference Network Design for Cisco Unified CCX and Cisco Unified IP IVR, Release 7.0

Lastly, there are some published scripts that you can reference:

Hi schulenberg,

Thanks for the very useful links.

I installed crs7.0 editor, it keeps on shutting down on being started.I wanted to do development without connecting to CRS server, locally. Any suggstion what is the issue?

That can be a little touchy. You need XP and need to run it with administrative privileges. If you are running Vista or 7, you will need to spin up an XP (32bit) VM.

Also, the first time you launch the program, you will need to successfully log into a CCX server to get a cached copy of the license file. After that you are supposed to be able to work offline (anonymous); however, there was a bug on this until very recently. You'll probably need to get the installer from a 7.0(1) SR2 or SR4 installation to get offline editing to work.
