UCCE 9.0 Web Setup error: Authorization error: There is a problem accessing Instance OU information in the Active Directory domain. Contact your System Administrator.

Hi,

I'm trying to setup UCCE 9.0 for educational purpose following different documentation (documentation is very poor). These are the step followed:

1. UCCE has been installed on Server A
2. Domain controller has been created on Server B and user "ccenter" was created as a administrator user.
3. Server A was added to domain created. Server name is CCENTERE@UCCE.com
4. Domain Manager was setup (Attached image).
5. I got access to Web setup but when I tried to add a instance the following error was received: Authorization error: There is a problem accessing Instance OU information in the Active Directory domain. Contact your System Administrator. (Attached image).

The "ccenter" has been added to all Directory Domain server, including Cisco_ICM (Attached image).

Any advice would be appreciated.

You are probably missing some role in Domain.

try assigning all available role and see if it works.

Thanks for the response. I assigned all available role to the user "ccenter" but it didn't work , same error is received (please see attached image).

Leo,

Go into Active Directory Users and Computers and go to the OU that contains Cisco_ICM - once there, expand all the way down to the OU who's name is the same as your instance name. Within that OU, you should see the following security groups that you should add your domain user to: 

<facility>_<instance>_Config 

<facility>_<instance>_Service 

<facility>_<instance>_Setup 

<facility>_<instance>_Webview

For safe measure, you can also go up one OU, the facility OU, and add yourself to the following security groups:

<facility>_Config 

<facility>_Setup 

<facility>_Webview

Yes. I ran Domain Manager use same user (ccenter) and removed everthing (All OU Cisco_ICM were removed), then added everything back and assigned the user on all Security Group. After ran Web Setup using same user was received same error "Authorization error: There is a error accesing instance OU... 

Any idea?

its weird, using the same user you are able to create OU, but not able to access that OU. try restring DC services, and see if it works.

What version of Windows Server are you using ( 2003/2008 ?) and what is the domain functionality level ?

Domain/Forest Functionality Level is Windows Server 2008 R2.

can you attach websetup logs. you may find them at below location

C:\icm\log\Websetup

and at here:

C:\Temp

create same user "ccenter" on local computer(UCCE machine) as well and give all admin rights and then try to check if it works?
