UCCE and "Active Directory Application Mode" (ADAM)

Hi guys,

we have a customer with enormously security requirements concerning UCCE and Active Directory. We are not allowed to integrat UCCE into the corporate domain. The possibility is to setup a seaparate AD, but the customer isn't happy about that at all. So we had the idea to use Active Directory in Application Mode for the UCCE. We think this will meet the customers requirements, but the question is, if Cisco supports this scenario? Any ideas?

thx in advance, Jochen

The Cisco Customer Directory Configuration Plugin is used to integrate Cisco CallManager with Enterprise Directory and can be used if you do not want to use the embedded Data Connection (DC) Directory. This plugin, which includes Netscape Directory Server and Microsoft Active Directory, installs only on servers that are running Cisco CallManager 3.0(10) or later. After the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) configuration completes, you can use the Corporate Directory service on your Cisco IP phone model 7940 or 7960 to look up users in the Enterprise Directory. You can also upload completed workflow application files to the directory.

Hi Jochen,

I suggest contacting your Cisco Sales rep with a business case, I do not see any reference to ADAM in our documentation:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/icm_enterprise/icm_enterprise_7_0/reference/guide/icme70st.pdf

but there are some lines suggesting you could implement even only X509 credentials and Kerberos login for the ICM accounts, so there might be room for discussion, see:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/icm_enterprise/icm_enterprise_7_2/reference/guide/security_guide.pdf

Regards,

Riccardo

Hi Jochen,

checked with Product Marketing and it looks like there are currently no plans to support ADAM on the IPCC Enterprise side.

Riccardo
