UCCE Training: IP IVR or CVP

I am currently evaluating learning UCCE and the various courses out there are split between AUCCE (Administration) and DUCCE (Deployments)

Also these are split between two technologies: IP IVR and CVP.

How differrent are the two courses?  If choosing courses ( i will book one of each) which ones do you reccomend?

Totally new to UCCE so all advice is greatly appreciated.

The two you mention are the basic UCCE training courses that are considered as prerequisites for other courses. You should definitely take those - Admin first, and then Deployment. If you are doing CVP, you should then do the CVPI course.

All three courses are intensive. Good luck.

Agreeing with Geoff on Admin, then Deployment.  However, I would say go with IP IVR first before CVP as IP IVR is easier to set up in a lab environment.

Many thanks for the advice,

Cisco reccomends do AUCCE before DUCCE.

Any reasons not to do it the other way round?  My role would be more based on deployments rather than day to day admin so I would prefer to learn this first.

If any of you have sat both these courses then your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Well you've had 2 people on here tell you to do it the same way as Cisco recommends, so it's up to you how you want to proceed.  Doing the admin walks you through how the components come together and gives you a more high level perspective.  Then deployment get's into the details of installing every single component.

Before they were renamed, they used to be called ICM Product Training and ICM Admin Training.

Product Training was a pre-requisite for Admin Training. You needed to become familiar with the breadth of the product set before you could start with administration. There are a lot of fundamentals to learn - I'm still learning them.

Geoff
