UCCE Upgrade - CGupgrade

Hi All,

 

We are trying to upgrade UCCE 8.5(3) to 9.0 using the common ground upgrade method. While restore the CGbackup we are getting the following error.

10/15/2014 7:14:33 PM INFO: RESTORE DB Command is RESTORE DATABASE [int1_awdb] FROM  DISK = 'D:\Aw\int1_awdb.bak'.
10/15/2014 7:14:33 PM ERROR: Failed to restore int1_awdb. Restore manually.

10/15/2014 7:14:33 PM ERROR: Error: The backup set holds a backup of a database other than the existing 'int1_awdb' database.
RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

 What is could be problem ? how do we proceed further.

can you please post the whole log as an attachment?

Also, would it be possible to do a Restore using MS SQL Studio? The backup file might be corrupted.

Hi All,

AWDB must be backup & restored using the cgupgrade as per the UCCE upgrade guide. My problem is while taking the backup it's was unable to clean up db (remove SQL database).

After deleting the data & logs from the mysql folder manually , we able to restore the database.

you are right, from the version 8.5 to 9.0 was the SQL Server change. And we usual did a TechRefresh Upgrade to a virtual environment.

Hi,

the awdb you mustn't bakup/restore. All the configuration is stored in the sideA/B Database. After update the SideA DB with the Data Migration Tool you can get the Configuration from the centreal Controller with "Intialize Local Database Tool".
