I am faced with a chose. I am familiar with 4.0 and all its caveats when it comes to HA and dealing with scripts. Why the changes from warm standby with 5 to 30 sec switch over servers to cold standby servers with hard drive swap? What are you using to get HA in your 4.5 deployments (third party imaging tools)? Also what am I getting in 4.5 that I don?t have in 4.0.5? And what else am I losing in 4.5 besides HA? Thanks for your thoughts Mike

It's a matter of CallManager support
4.0 is for use with CallManager 4.x
4.5 is for use with CallManager 5.x
You can't use 4.0 with CallManager 5.x or 4.5 with CallManager 4.x

So whats the deal on HA? Is a better solution then a cold standby coming?

We have a client with a 4 node HA environment and while there are issues, the system has been stable and the failover smooth. It just depends on your particular application, the business need, and the SLA that needs to be met.
