Is it possible to have a SoftPhone act as the phone for an ACD agent. I had no luck getting this to work correctly under 4.1, but I was wondering if anything had changed with 7. We are just looking for the best way to make people mobile and have some people start to work from home. I have their regular lines going to a softphone, but need t look at the ACD lines.
Although softphone is supported, I have experienced an issue when Agent tries to login Agent desktop with physical phone, after they have used the softphone used for a while (I am not talking about simultanious login to physical and softphone). The CUCM is unable to associate the physical phone anymore to agent when they had previously they had been using the softphone.
Has anyone else seen this error (as described in temp1.img), even when the physical phone is associated to the RMJTAPI.
It comes up as different error (as decribed in temp2.img) if softphone is booted along with physical phone.
I ahve been having agents use the softphone for a while now and have not had an issue when going back and forth. They are on laptops and use the softphone on weekends and at times throughout the week. This issue almost sounds like there is a different issue going on with Call Manager. I can not think of anything else that would be causing this issue than an error inside Call Manager itself. I am guessing that you can disassociate the phone and reassociate it and that goes well.
Other than that, I can not think of anything that would cause this issue. Are you on the latest patch of UCM 7?

The below trick might come handy when you have to add a new node to a cluster but you don't have or is unsure of the security password for the publisher. This procedure has been around for ages.
1) Login into the CLI of the Publisher.
