UCCX - 8.0.2 - Doubt about critical services

I agree that the documentation could use a few enhancements.

Generally speaking, UCCX will have all services turned on and running.  It's not like CUCM where you have to pick and choose to activate services.  You basically perform the installation, all services get activated, and then they just stay running.

A few things you can do to understand UCCX better are:

  • Work with Cisco TAC more, and ask questions
  • Attend Cisco Live UCCX training sessions (Or read the presentations like the one I linked earlier)
  • Attend UCCX classes
  • Read the documentation thoroughly
  • Experiement with a lab system (I.e., What is affected when I shutdown the Desktop Enterprise Service?)

Thank you for the feedback.

UCCX - 8.0.2 - Doubt about critical services

Hi,

You will have to first define the phrase: "for UCCX to work."

For example:

  • If all you care about is pinging the server then, no, none of those services are critical.
  • If you want UCCX to only answer inbound calls, then a certain subset of the services are critical.
  • If you want UCCX to deliver calls to Agents, then add a few more services.
  • If you need HA, then add another.
  • If you need Outbound, or DB integration, call recording, silent monitoring, or e-mail, etc, you'll add more services to the list.

To learn about the services, you can read the UCCX SRND, the Serviceability Guide, and then check out the Cisco Live presentation: BRKCCT-3005

UCCX - 8.0.2 - Doubt about critical services

Hi Anthony,

As I told, my criticism is for Cisco (not for You). I understand that about UCCX the documentation need improve and much. Recently I opened the case in TAC, and the Engineer inform that not can pass specific information because is restrict the TAC and developer. Not always the TAC pass the information that We request.

You already help for me many time, thanks a lot

I will try follow your recommendation

Wilson
