value of string

I have a collect string step and I want to say if the first letter of the string is a 0 then strip it, otherwise carry on, is this possiable?

Do you have IVR Enhanced? Do you have java steps in your editor? Then you can use this attached script.

Actually use this script. This has the new string with "0" stripped.
