Webview unavailable

We have an IPCC 7.1.3 system, newly built. However webview is failing to even reach the login screen. IIS and 3rd party tools are installed ok no errors in the log files. Install of webview appears to go without a hitch.

The only pointer I have found so far is if we attempt to log into the New Atlanta servlet admin then that also fails. The troubleshooting guide says check the install logs in this case but these are clean.

I suspect it's a permissions issue of some kind. The only difference I can see in this build is that the servers are residing in a specific OU with the Cisco GPO applied.

Anyone experienced this? and whats the Answer, TAC don't have an answer for me at the moment.

Re: Webview unavailable

NewAtlanta, actually, is just a servlet container and one should never be in need to go to its admin interface to do anything...

We tried - just for fun - to break into it and we got admin access. I remember the NewAtlanta admin password is stored in a text file and one should be able to delete it and then log in with blank password. But again, I would not go that way.

Please check

- IIS is up'n'running? Are you able to run a simple ASP script, right?

- some kind of firewall/browser setting not blocking the view?

And pls do post that error message... thx

Re: Webview unavailable

Hello,

can you pls tell me the URL you are trying to reach WebView with?

Should be:

https://[IP address or FQDN of AW/HDS]/[instance name], for instance, https://10.10.10.10/boston

What kind of error message do you see in the browser? 403? 404?

Re: Webview unavailable

yup localhost/instance both http and https fail to reach the login screen on webview. Something that is key is that I can't access new atlanta admin http://localhost/servletexec/admin this should allow me to log in but it also fails.

I don't recall the exact error message but I don't think it's a 403 or 404. I'll post up the error message when I get back on site.

Re: Webview unavailable

You miss my point on New Atlanta, logging into it is a recommended troubleshooting step in the webview guide. The username is admin and the password is blank - thats also in the guide. Logging into this is a way of checking NewAtlanta is running correctly - eg you should be able to reach the admin console (we can't). This apparently points us to a faulty install which we should see in the install logs but don't.

IIS is up and running, no firewalls are running we can't run WV on the local box or from a remote box. Same result.

Error is 401.1 - http not authorised.

Thanks for the help.
