How to reset a Cisco DPC2325 back to factory defaults including authentication
I have a new DPC2325 cable modem which an ISP technician initially installed. He contends that he only plugged in it, plugged his laptop into it, and was able to get Internet access. That is probably the case as it apparently has DHCP enabled for both the cable port and the LAN ports. He did not set a password.
I need to be able to change the IP information, disable DHCP, and set a static cable address.
I can not log in to the modem. The instruction guide says to hold the reset button for 10 seconds to set it back to factory defaults. I still cannot log in. It has the default IP address of 192.168.0.1 and my laptop gets a DHCP address of 192.168.0.10. But the login name and password are not blank and blank.
I have used IE8 32bit and 64bit and Firefox 4 and 5.
