Cisco VMDC

Hi,

               In Cisco Virtualized Multi-Tenant Data Center, Version 2.0 Design Guide, Cisco used "Services VDC Sandwich Model  on page 1-25 , but this model is no more discussed or mentioned in the other model like 2.1 and above.
                 Why this model is not continue or is there any limitations or  other issue. ?

                 We  will appreciate if you please share and give us comparison between  VDC sandwich and Vrf sandwich model .

both VRF and VDC options are valid designs, its all about which approach you prefer and simpler

using the VDC is good interms of complete logical box separation and you logical topology will look like separate aggregation and services blocks ( I think if you have a LB in routed mode this can be good option )

the VRF one is more simple because you can use one VDC/default and differnt VRFs and upstream FW can perform the inter VRF routing also LB in L2 mode can be used in the design

hope this help
