Uploading a document onto DCP initiates the life-cycle of that document as explained in previous article.
A document can only have one instance of it per Cisco Advanced Services quality policies. It can, however, have multiple versions to evolve through its life-cycle.

To add a document into DCP, first make sure to be in the Content Management functional area.

Next, if you have defined workviews and wish to work in the context of a workview, select the workview from the Left Pane Filter.

If you have a folder structure created under the workview, navigate to the appropriate folder.

Note: Uploading a document under a workview is optional. You can as well upload documents from the landing page in the Content Management functional area.

In the top left area above the table grid, click on the '+' icon and choose Add File.  This will open the document drop-zone.

You can drag and drop one or more files directly into the document drop-zone or you can click the hyperlinked text 'Browse files from the system' to open up your default file browser. Select your file to be uploaded. Multiple files can be uploaded at once. Once dropped you will get an indication of the upload progress.

You will be able to continue performing tasks on other documents during the upload. At any time you can come back and pause your cursor over the 'upload indicator' upload.PNG to see how the upload is progressing.

Default meta-data tagging will be applied to the uploaded documents:

  • The title will set to the the file name.
  • Content-category will be set to 'Deliverable'.
  • Status will equal to 'Pre-Draft'.
  • Version number will be set to '0.1'.

In the next articles we explain how this tagging can be updated to your needs.

For quality and traceability purposes, documents that pertain to a particular service engagement with a customer will have to be tagged with a project ID (PID)/customer combination. You can only tag a document to a project to which you are actively assigned.

By default no PID/customer is tagged with a document being uploaded and it needs to be updated through properties editing.
The Left Pane Filter comes handy here to pre-tag documents being uploaded with a PID/customer:

    • When a PID is selected from the Left Pane Filter and you have an active assignment to that PID, then the document(s) being uploaded will be tagged with that project and corresponding customer.
    • When a Customer is selected from the Left Pane Filter, then the document(s) being uploaded will be tagged with that customer. Furthermore if for that customer, you only have 1 corresponding project and you have an active assignment to that PID, then the document(s) will also be tagged with that PID.
    • When a workview is selected from the Left Pane Filter and that workview consists of a single project and/or customer the same will apply.

This comes handy when you have to upload multiple documents to the same PID and/or customer.

Note that after your documents are uploaded, you might have to refresh your table by clicking on the 'refresh' refresh.PNG icon on the top-right corner above the table grid. You also want to make sure that the filter combination of preset/custom table configurations, Left Pane Filter and column filters allow to show your uploaded documents per the default tagging that is applied as explained above.

Team, Regarding Advanced Work Authorization (AWA) Processes:

If I'm supposed to upload Advance Work Authorization package to DCP, but I don't yet have an Active PID, or a Pre-Sales/Pipeline PID associated with my customer, what is my next step(s) to push forward with my AWA approval processes?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Upload the AWA package ZIP file to the associated Customer in DCP Content Management. For guidance see: https://community.cisco.com/t5/delivery-collaboration-portal-dcp2-internal-documents/upload-a-document/ta-p/3655820
