Also check out Canopus Procoder and Autodesk Cleaner. These are two commonly used professional grade encoding software packages that are found in most pro video production shops. They allow a higher degree of control over your encode as compared to some of the prosumer packages mentioned by Tom. The ones mentioned by Tom will work fine, I just mention these as they have additional features that make them compelling purchases for a pro level deployment.
We are trying to use the Cisco MXE 3500 for video conversions. For this , we are developing our custom based application and when we tried to look out for some API documentation for MXE 3500 to control and pass the commands to it, we are not able to find any documentation for that.
