Re: format the comapq flash 4 G

Hello,

Are you talking about USB sticks to use as external storage on the

DMP-4400G?

What is the current format of the USB drives?

Thanks

Re: format the comapq flash 4 G

Hello

I like to thank you about ur answer and i like to tell you the man he making format for Compaq flash internal in dmp 4400g can help me to back os inside Compaq flash 4 G

Cisco Employee

Re: format the comapq flash 4 G

Opening the DMP and replacing any part(s) inside the DMP

invalidates the Warranty and can cause issues with the performance

and operation of the DMP.  This SHOULD NOT be done.

Hopefully, you have the original Compact Flash and you can

return it to the SD slot and the DMP operates as expected.

For additional external storage, you must use the USB ports.

Thank You

Thank you for Reply

I like to tell you the original one inside the DMP 4400 Compaq flash 4G internal Storage Formatted and what can I back OS inside DMP 4400

And when I start DMP 4400 the red lam start and I can’t take IP from DHCP

Cisco Employee

Re: format the comapq flash 4 G

The OS is not stored on the SD flash.  That is used for content storage.

The Red lamp simply means it can not get an IP address.  This could be for

various reasons.

* Press & Hold the RESET button on the back of the DMP for at least 10 seconds.

This resets the DMP to factory defaults and should reboot and acquire an IP via

DHCP.

If it does not & the Red lamp remains lit and solid.  You may need to use wireshark and

sniff the line\port of the DMP to see the DHCP requests, etc...

Check it out an let us know..

Thanks

* Make sure the CF is formatted for DOS FAT32

Re: format the comapq flash 4 G

Researching for possible fixes but there may be not an easy one

for your issue.

The problem is that it is against warranty to open the DMP and to mess

with the CF card.  So by you reformatting it you have altered the CF to where

it will not boot with it.

If there is not an external solution, you will need to use your service contract

to open a case with the TAC to RMA the DMP.  but I should hopefully know something

by later today or tomorrow.

thanks

Re: format the comapq flash 4 G

Please go ahead and use your Service Contract to

open a Cisco TAC case and request an RMA.

There is no external procedure to recover a formatted

CF drive.  Since the DMP should have never been opened

there are only internal routines.

Thanks
