Is there a design guide to configure Touchscreen in DMS 5.2??

Hello,

I just got an (APR) ELO (3200L Digital Signage) touchscreen and I already have viedos running in it but now I want to go to the next level and configure a touch presentation. After going through the documentation I just found conection and calibration topics but nothing about the steps to design a touch presentation.

So if someone has a document that explains that, I'd appreciate if you post it.

There is no design guide for designing Touch applications.

Think of the Touch functionality as your finger as a mouse + click in

one step.  You can design simple web pages with click operations

or presentations with multiple touch features like an interactive

keyboard and other types of app functions.

Development of Touch applications is outside the DMS suite. What

i mean by this we (Cisco) do not design the Touch apps with DMD

or any other Cisco application.  The DMP & the Touch Display work

in tandem to use the custom application the you or a partner

develops.

I would contact one of our DMS partners like

industry weapon.  They develop applications like

this for Digital Signs.

Let's say I already have the presentation, how do I load en execute it? Is it as simple as loading the "file" into the DMP memory or pulled from a webserver? Do I have to create a presentation in the DMD where I put the touch application and then push it to DMP as a normal presentation?

Any checklist or guide that explains this?

The "Touch" application, web page, or HTML is delivered or deployed the

same as other content.

The above documentation should give you the steps needed to deliver your

content to the DMP.  In Summary, most use cases have the content either stored locally or

delivered to the DMP via a Web\Content Server.

Hi Tom,

I already qualified this as a correct answer but I still have some doubts.

I got a Flash (swf) presentation that interacts with clicks which has an xml and html files atteched to it so that it can work when you reproduce it. So, here is where I can't figure out how to load this content into my DMS. I need to put this folder with the 3 files into the webserver then type the URL into the library to "call" the interactive file and once DMS uses the swf it will be brought from webserver as long as use the other files automatically although they are still in the webserver folder?

I hope my explanation-question was clear, if not I think I should go an open a case at TAC.

Ok, I think I understand what you are saying and

this should work from the web server as long as

your .swf call for the other files has the entire

weburl embedded so it knows where to go..

If stored locally (just like on a PC) the .swf app usually

calls the files directly from the same directory of a sub-dir

of the app's root dir.

If the files are not to big and not confidential, upload them

here and I will test tomorrow in the office and let you know

what I find out.
