AsyncOS 8.5.6 stop receiving Sophos and Anti-Spam Update

Hi All,

 

Is anyone encountered that AsyncOS 8.5 is unable to receive Sophos and Antispam update. aggregator server is reachable from ESA C170.

 

Kindly share also the link if there a document that saying due to AsyncOS 8.5 reached its EOL.

Async OS 8.5 is end if support as per below notice:

 

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/email-security-appliance/eos-eol-notice-c51-737629.html

 

End of support versions would no longer be receiving updates for any of the scanning engines.

 

You are recommended to upgrade the Async OS as soon as possible or upgrade hardware if you currently use x60 series hardware which is also end of support.

No additional RAM is currently provided for C170 models.

 

However, C170 can still be upgraded beyond 8.5 and is not known to have issues unless there is heavy load on the appliance already.

You really save my day.

 

If C370 Appliance encountered "Entered Resource conservation mode" and CPU Utilization reached 100%, what do you think causing this issue? Antispam is enabled in outgoing mail policies.

A device may enter resource conservation mode if it is under heavy load or running out of resources.

 

It may not be directly related to the antispam not updating, however may contribute to it.

 

You may want to ensure there is 8GB RAM installed using command "ipcheck" and plan an upgrade to Async OS 9.7 or higher.
