C300 DNS

I'm getting a high number of bounces with the following error ...

'000', ['Failed to get root nameserver.']

I'm "Using the Internet's root DNS servers".

Anyone come across this themselves?

Thanks.

Hi Tim,

If this is from an ESA, I've been told it might be the error you get when you don’t have a file listing the default root zone addresses.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNS_root_zone

It could also be that you are running up against a firewall through port 53.

Thanks,

Cordelia

Thanks for the reply.

I got tech support on the phone today. Turns out that my DNS cache got corrupted somehow.
