We are going to deploy Cloud ESA, but what we need to connect our Active Directory to Cloud ESA for user authentication , how we can secure the communication between them across internet?

Hello Mustapha,

Is this for SMTP Authentication (IE: Authenticate before allowed to send emails).
Or secure as in SSL/TLS communication?

If it's the latter.

For inbound connections to be secure -> GUI > Mail Policies > Mail Flow Policies Click into The mail flow policies or default, set TLS to preferred (So it can fall back to plain text if TLS is not available)

For outgoing connections (to internet or any destination) -> GUI > Mail Policies > Destination Controls -> Set the default to TLS preferred.

Hi Mathew,

Yes, we want to authenticate users before sending email, and we want to secure connection between Cloud ESA and our AD, so any sniff on this traffic (authentication) should be encrypted.
