Configuring inbound/outbound listeners with a single interface

Hello All,

This is my first time setting up an IronPort.  The model we have is a C170.  We only have 1 interface connected in our network.  We don't have a DMZ setup and our network is flat (no routing/vlans).  When I tried to configure a 2nd listener, it tells me that port 25 is already used by the 1st listener.  Is ther a way to use a single interface to send and receive mail?  Our network is behind a ASA 5505.  Or if you have a document you can send me to, that will help too.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sean,

You can send an receive emails with the same listener.

From the HAT perspective you can send email using the "RELAY" section so you can add the email server and you also recieve emails. As someone said.. Keep as simple as you can!

Please also take a look to the deployment guide; it provide good tips.

You can configure more than 1 IP address on the same physical interface. By using different IP addresses you can configure to use the same 25 port.

Daniel,

not sure if that's possible as i have tried to configure a different IP on the 2nd interface and it still won't allow me to use port 25 because it's already used by the first interface.
