Any Ironport AS users out there who want to talk about how effective it is? Especially compared to Brightmail.
Currently Brightmail has picked up a bit - however it is getting creamed by the "fully unique text graphical stock dumping scam" spams (my hobby horse). Only Senderbase reputation is slowing them down here - and even then that and DHAP is ineffective due to botnets.
I'd be interested in hearing about AS as well. We have been running all the mail that gets through BrightMail through SpamAssassin (which catches the "fully unique text graphical stock dumping scam" spams easily) - we block thousands a day. We also run the email through ClamAV because it catches Phishing email.
I really wish BrightMail would get its act together. Currenty, the only real benefit our IronPort is providing is the reputation filtering - fortunately that is a huge benefit for us as over 90% of all incomming connections are filtered out by it which takes a real load off our mail server and SpamAssassin/ClamAV
