Hello all, is there someone able to clarify the workflow that an email message takes when it goes through an IronPort Appliance?
I have looked at documentation, and i can see how the features works and their functions, but, i did not find a kind of correlation about them. For example:
We have HAT, RAT, Mail Policy, Message Filter, Content Filter and so on...which one is the first and what are the process on inbound and outbound messages? How is it checked and in which order along all these "steps" ?
I have to create an internal procedure in my company, but first, i need to understand this to transfer better explanations to our papers.
Any help will be very apreciable.
Thanks a lot.

Mauro,
On the ESA, go to the upper right, click on "Help and Support > Online Help" Once it opens up the help, click on the Contents tab, select Configuration Guide, you should see a listing for "Understanding the Email Pipeline". Basically it flows from top to bottom in that table.
Or this doc, chapter 4, (pg 77).
