If your running AsyncOS 6.x MFC is really only helpful if you have multiple C/X series appliances and you don't have an M series.
As long as you have AsyncOS 6.x, I'd highly recommend it by the way, on-box message tracking is way better (faster, cleaner, more options) with 6.1 than MFC 1.3/1.4 is, and you don't require another server to run it.
Otherwise it's a toss up, I like the findevent / grep functionality via CLI myself. :)
