Hi,

We ahave already increased the size of the Policy Quarntine to 15 GB which was shown as the Max limit.  We would like ti increase the policy quarantine to 30 GB. Is it possible to do this?

Hello Tharun,

when decreasing the size of a quarantine, the appliance will keep all messages in that quarantine, unless they exceed that new size, in that case the oldes messages are deleted. You can double check that by entering a new size to a quarantine, submit, and then check

GUI: Monitor->Quarantines

before(!) commiting. If there are more messages in the quarantine than then new size allows, the status bar of that quarantine will turn red, and display 100%full. At that point none of the messages have been deleted yet, as the new setting only becomes effective after commiting your changes. So you are still able to change the size again if you do not want anything deleted.

Once you are satisfied with the result, commit to activate your size changes.

Regards,

Andreas

Hello Tharun,

increasing the policy quarantine would only work if you decrease the size of other quarantines (exept Spam quarantine) to free space, there is no other option, unless you consider a model upgrade.  Also, out of curiosity, why do you require a policy quarantine of such a large size? maybe there is a better approach to that.

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

How can I decrease the size of other quarantines and then increase the size of Policy quarantine? Could you please explain the steps?

Tharun

Hello Tharun,

the size of each quarantine can be changed  under GUI: Monitor->Quarantines , click on the "Edit" link of the quarantine you want to change, the size is defined in the "Space Allocation:" link. This field also states how big the quarantine can be, decreasing the size of one or more quarantines will increase this value, which then can be used on the other quarantine(s).

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for the info.

If I am decreasing the size of other quarantines, will it delete the content?? If I am increasing the size of the quarantine will it delete the mails currently in the qurantine?
