Does anyone know if it is possible for a user to exceed an allowable number of entries in their Safelist / blocklists? if so, any idea of what that number is?

Thanks!

No, the user can't exceed the alloted number of entries in the safelist/blocklist apportioned(sp?) by the administrator.

The user will get this error when they try and add an entry that exceeds the limit:

Success — The message was released from the quarantine.

No senders have been added to your Safelist.

test@test.com cannot be added to the Safelist because you are at the allowed limit for number of entries in this list.

or this message when manually adding users to either the safelist/blocklist:

Error — You are at the allowed limit for number of entries in this list.

Here is a side note about the limits the administrator sets for all the users. It is somewhat related. I thought it would be useful.

Question: Can the adminstrator alter the size of the safelist/blocklist?

Answer:

Yes. The size can be adjusted through the web interface.

Monitor -> Spam Quarantine -> End-User Safelist/Blocklist -> Edit Settings

Currently, the maximum limit is 500. This encompasses *both* lists.

For instance, if you choose to set the limit to 250, that would allow 125 entries for the

Safelist, and 125 for the Blocklist.

Hi there,

I have a user that cannot add any more entries to the Blocklist. With the same error above: Error — You are at the allowed limit for number of entries in this list.

He currently has 50 entries in his Blocklist. Safelist is 0.

We have 2 nodes, mail1 and mail2.

Maximum List Items Per user on mail1 was set to 50, this has been changed to 100.

Maximum List Items Per user on mail2 was already set to 100.
