3DES Activation for PIX-515E-UR

One of our client bought PIX-515E-UR,can we enable 3des license on the box, i tried the same, but in the website its asking for PAK or SW serial number i am not able to find the same, please some one can help me on this.

You should just need the serial number of your pix device. If type in from config mode

"sh ver"

at the bottom of the output will be the serial number.

Hi,

But i tried with that serial number but it's throwing " PAK: xxxxxxxx which you have entered is not a valid one" error.

whether i need to shoot a mail to TAC or any other way i can get it activated.

Your PAK number is at the bottom of the "sh ver" statement - it is the Product Aactivation key. Have you tried entering this into the form ?

Okay, i thought i'd better do it for one of my DES only firewalls to test it out.

Do you have a Cisco login. if not you need to register a Cisco account. Go to this page and register

https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/Licensing/RegistrationServlet

Once you have a login go to

www.cisco.com/go/license

You will be prompted for you username/password.

Once on this page in the box at the top labelled "Licenses not requiring a PAK" click on the "here for available licenses" link.

Then scroll down to select the 3DES pix firewall license and follow the instructions. You will then be e-mailed with your 3DES update key.

HI,

I got the activation-key from cisco but i am getting error while applying to the PIX.

ERROR: The requested activation key was not saved because it is not

valid for this system.

Before requesting the activation key the version which was running in the PIX was 6.3 and i upgrded to to 7.2(2), requesting time also i specified the version is 7.2(2)only, but the Existing one is 4-tuple license key( Running activation key), but i received 5-tuple license key.
