Add Sub Int to non trunked interface on ASA5510

Hello, anyone know any tricks to adding a sub int to an interface in an ASA without losing all of the references to the existing name? For example, we have a non-trunked interface "dmz1" that we need to turn into a trunked int to add another dmz, of course if you do it from the CLI, as soon as you would try to remove dmz1 from the main interface, the ASA will remove all associated referenced lines of code with dmz1 in it. In the past I have altered the startup config and reload, works like a gem, but this time we would like to add the int and trunk without reloading the ASA,

thanks for your help

Hello Erin,

Write all the commands into a notepad in correct order, then paste the complete config.
