we have two border routers running BGP with more than one ISP. I would like to add default routes to all ISP gateways in case one fails and we have to route to the others. is this feasible? I have two ASA 5520 running failover.

regards,

Hi!

Just use Policy Based Routing (PBR) with tracking to do what you want.

JP,

Could this be done using the ASA? I can't find anything referring to it on the ASA books that I have.

or run HSRP, VRRP, or GLBP between the routers.

point the default gw of the ASA to the virtual address of whichever of those you choose.

are the two routers exchanging router? iBGP peers?

in this link, instead of a host PC behind the two routers, imagine that is your ASA.

Ok, I thought there were something else that I could have added to the ASA besides the default route that I already point to the virtual IP address of both routers.

Thanks all for your inputs
